What we collect
Account basics (email, name, handle), what you add (garage vehicles, photos, posts, follows), event activity (registrations, tickets, gate check-ins), and payment records. Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles those. If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email and display name; nothing else.
Where it lives
MotoGather is self-hosted: your data sits in our own database and object storage, not scattered across third-party analytics platforms. We run no ad trackers and no third-party analytics. Uploaded photos are automatically stripped of hidden metadata (including GPS location) before storage.
Who sees what
Your profile, garage, and public activity are visible to other users. Organizers of events you register for see your name, handle, and the vehicle you registered with — that's what gate check-in needs. Private crews see your follow request. Site administrators can view account records for moderation and to track off-platform payment activity.
Third parties
Stripe (card payments), Google (only if you use Google sign-in), our email relay (transactional mail like tickets and password resets), and map tile providers (CARTO/Esri — your browser fetches map images from them when you view a map). We sell nothing to anyone.
Retention & deletion
Delete your account from the dashboard and your profile, garage, follows, and notifications go with it immediately; uploaded images are removed from storage. Financial ledger records for completed transactions are retained as required for accounting. Backups age out on a rolling window.
